About
Simply Improved Terrain rewrites parts of Minecraft’s terrain generation to make landscapes more varied and less grid-like while retaining a broadly vanilla look, and is designed to work as a drop-in with modpacks and datapacks. It reduces square-shaped terrain distortions and directional bias in large-scale features, and softens angular patterns in ice and other surface details. Biome borders are blended more smoothly, while features such as lava lakes and clay deposits gain more natural shapes through rounded spread patterns and falloff noise. End generation also receives smoother transitions and less grid artifacting in the large island, with falloff noise adding shape variation to smaller islands.
