Sortilege strengthens Minecraft’s existing magic systems by bringing enchanting, brewing, experience, and related features into a more cohesive, configurable whole rather than replacing them with a separate magic framework. Its six tiers of magic staff, from wood through netherite, fire instant-traveling beams that damage targets in their path, with tier-dependent range, damage, and piercing; configurable cooldowns limit repeated shots, and the beams deal magic damage. Staff enchantments can boost damage, range, piercing, or reduce experience costs, while others let staffs bonk in melee, push or pull enemies, freeze, burn, explode, or shock them; staff beams change color with their type and enchantments, and staffs can also be dyed or temporarily overcharged with lapis to avoid spending experience. The mod adds antidotes brewed with glow ink from potions: drinking one clears its corresponding effect and grants five minutes of immunity, and a regular ink sac reverses the brew. Potions stack to eight, drink faster, last longer, and enter a short cooldown after use; brewing can also take place in a cauldron over a lit campfire, producing several bottles at once, with Soul Campfires able to refill the cauldron over time. Enchanting gains new options including Arcane, which converts a melee weapon’s damage to magic, Magic Protection against magic damage, and Soulbound items that can be retained on death; configurable limits can cap an item’s enchantments, while curses can add slots and rare Limitite gems can raise the limit. Catalysts, including enchanted books, can influence which enchantments appear at an enchanting table, and an optional knowledge system ties enchanting to exploration: players can scrap enchanted loot with a Knowledge Book to record its enchantments, then make those discoveries available from books they carry or store in nearby chiseled bookshelves. Experience changes include configurable leveling and caps, a Witch Hat that boosts experience gains from killing mobs, and a death system that can divide lost experience among the player, the ground, and the killer; monsters may also drop experience, and death coordinates appear on the death screen and in chat. Additional configurable utilities include narrower keep-inventory options for equipped items, experience-free anvils, recipe locks tied to experience or advancements, and Lapis Shields that automatically block some frontal attacks but have lower durability and a narrower blocking angle.

No harmful code found
We checked its files and read their code, without running it.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
We found nothing it sends
We read its code without running it: it contacts no web address while you play.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files, images and code history and found none.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.

Mods that modpacks often add together with Sortilege. Share: how many of the modpacks with Sortilege also have that mod.
The newest file for each Minecraft version and loader. The files for recent versions come first. Recent versions: those released in the last 2 years, plus 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, among the most played in modpacks.
In the last 2 years, 3 releases needed a quick fix: a new release within 3 days to fix a problem. This lowers the grade by 1 point.
