    About

    Spyglass Astronomy is a client-side overhaul of the night sky that lets players explore a procedurally generated solar system through a spyglass, with improved stars, planets and comets. Each world has its own shared arrangement of stars and planets, generated with scientifically grounded orbital behavior, so alignments and orbital resonances unfold consistently for players in that world. Players can switch the spyglass into constellation mode to draw and select constellations between stars, or star mode to select stars and planets; selected objects can be named and inspected for details such as position, visibility season, distance and orbital characteristics. Comets are also part of the sky, including examples such as a recurring red comet, while screenshots show ringed gas giants and a galaxy visible as a cluster of stars along a line. Players can share constellations and named stars or planets with other mod users, while optional Spyglass Astronomy Sync provides a server-side route for smoother sharing. The sky can be customized with controls for star density, planet and star generation seeds, year length, and the visibility of stars, constellations and planets.
