The Banished is a Minecraft adventure mod about confronting ancient gods and their servants as they return from the Void, with boss fights forming a progression from Thanatos to the Banished Devastator and finally Apollyon. The journey begins with Gloomy Metal ore found underground among Voidstone, which also supplies a family of decorative blocks; players can obtain the Thanatos' Heart through a trade with a max-level Cleric and use it to summon the first boss. Banished Slaves provide Disgusting Meat for food or for brewing Void Bottles, which let players fly and grant beneficial effects, while their rare skull can be combined with Gloomy Metal to craft the Forgotten Music Disc. Thanatos wields a scythe, and defeating him yields a broken scythe that can be repaired with Gloomy Metal, a hand that increases movement speed, and the heart used to summon the Banished Devastator. The Devastator's drops include a fist that makes struck mobs levitate and take ongoing damage, a soul used to craft the Devastator weapon, and Apollyon's Heart, which summons the final boss. Defeating the Banished also yields Apollyon's Blood for crafting the Abyss Sword, which restores half a heart when it hits an entity; a revived Banished Charm can summon a Big Banished Slave to attack other mobs. Alongside its combat content, the mod adds a Gloomy Metal Shield, an explosion-immune Gloomy Metal Block, and a new painting for decoration.
Written from Modrinth . How we write it
Does not change the game's code directly.
Adds 9 blocks, 25 items, 6 mobs, 18 recipes, 16 advancements, 4 loot tables and 1 sound.
Counted from the names and data files in the mod, so the list may not be complete.
Keeps all of vanilla Minecraft's textures, models and sounds.
No harmful code found
We checked its files and read their code, without running it.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
We found nothing it sends
We read its code without running it: it contacts no web address while you play.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files, images and sounds and found none.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
