Helps your game run faster with fewer frame rate drops.

Rubidium is an unofficial Forge-compatible fork of CaffeineMC’s Sodium that improves Minecraft’s rendering performance and frame-time stability. Its chunk-rendering pipeline uses multi-draw techniques, compact vertex data, and early culling of hidden or camera-facing-away chunk surfaces to reduce CPU work, video-memory and bandwidth use, and unnecessary GPU geometry processing. Multithreaded nearby block updates and optimizations to chunk loading, block rendering, vertex building, and matrix transformations help reduce update-related lag and speed the rendering of block entities, mobs, and items. Memory-management improvements aim to lower memory use and garbage-collection-related stutters, while graphical refinements provide smooth lighting for fluids and special blocks and smoother biome blending for blocks and fluids. Rubidium also avoids updating animated textures that are not visible in the world, reducing texture-update work. For shader support, the project recommends Oculus rather than OptiFine, which it does not support.

Replaces 10 of vanilla Minecraft's block textures.
No harmful code found
We checked its files and read their code, without running it.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
We found nothing it sends
We read its code without running it: it contacts no web address while you play.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files, images and code history and found none.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
Point at or tap a version to see its loaders.
These projects do not work together with Rubidium: their authors or Rubidium's author say so. If you install both, the game can crash or some features can stop working. Some of them do the same job as Rubidium, so you only need one.

Fewer modpacks put it in their new versions than a year ago: 69 a month now, 169 a year agoThe average of the last 6 months, compared with the same 6 months a year before. We say it only when the change is large..
12,844 modpacks include Rubidium in at least one of their versions. Here are the 30 most downloaded.
Mods that modpacks often add together with Rubidium. Share: how many of the modpacks with Rubidium also have that mod.
