A mod that allows you to bring back prehistoric creatures from the past.
48 of the 64 points that apply = 75 out of 100.
Unusual Prehistory lets you revive prehistoric animals and plants, which can provide useful items or add ambience to the world. Find fossils across the world, including stone fossils for Mesozoic DNA, deepslate fossils for Paleozoic DNA, and frozen or tar fossils that unlock some Cenozoic creatures; analyze them for DNA, then use a cultivator and organic ooze to grow plants or create eggs and embryos. Live-birthed animals can be revived in birthing pods, and the Encyclopedia of Prehistory guides players through the plants, animals, and revival process. Exploration includes cold-biome Icebergs with frozen fossils and hot-biome Tar Pits with tar fossils, alongside permafrost, sinking tar, and asphalt that speeds up mounted creatures. Creatures include the fur-collecting Mammoth, dirt-excavating Megatherium, health-sapping Megalania, musically inclined Barinasuchus, sea snake Palaeophis, cave-dwelling Talapanas, hostile Paraceratherium, and bartering Gigantopithecus. The mod also adds Foxii and Dryophyllum trees, the Raiguenrayun flower, opal-based items, three handmade weapons, and a Tyrants Crown that enables interactions with specific animals.
Written from Modrinth and CurseForge . How we write it
Does not change the game's code directly.
Adds 154 blocks, 163 items, 50 entities, 188 recipes, 14 loot tables and 113 sounds.
Counted from the names and data files in the mod, so the list may not be complete.
Keeps all of vanilla Minecraft's textures, models and sounds.
No harmful code found
We checked its files and read their code, without running it.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
We found nothing it sends
We read its code without running it: it contacts no web address while you play.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign so far that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its description, files, images, sounds and code history and found none.
We have not read its changelogs yet.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
