A modpack for exploring, building, crafting machines, and practicing magic.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 373 graded mods, 275 are graded A or B, 81 C and 17 D to F. Its last update came out 7 months ago, for Minecraft 1.20.1. See the mods
The Pioneers is a broad, customizable modpack that brings technology, magic, exploration, combat, building, and food together, with mods and recipes adjusted to work well as a collection. Its technology options include Create and its machinery-focused addons, alongside Industrial Foregoing, Forestry, Refined Storage, and TIS-3D. For magic, players can explore Ars Nouveau and its addons, Botania, and Iron’s Spells ’n Spellbooks. Exploration spans dimensions and varied terrain, including the Aether, Alex’s Caves, and Regions Unexplored, with expanded dungeons, temples, mineshafts, fortresses, and other structures. Combat and creature-focused play feature dragons from Ice and Fire, mutant monsters, bosses, mounts, and firearms through Timeless and Classics Zero and its gun packs. The pack also supports colony building with MineColonies and offers tools and materials for construction, decoration, and storage, including Building Gadgets, LittleTiles, and Sophisticated Storage. Food and farming additions include Aquaculture 2, Farmer’s Delight and its themed addons, Cooking for Blockheads, and Overweight Farming. Complementary shaders are included, with performance, shader-support, and interface enhancements also among the pack’s quality-of-life features.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.20.1 · Forge, 8 Apr 2026). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
Compared with the release of 28 Jan 2026 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. We do not compare the versions of the projects yet.
No harmful code found in the projects we checked
We checked 376 of its 378 projects and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
8 mods send something about you
We read the code of 374 of its 376 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 2 of the 314 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
18 other mods show AI use only from after this release (8 Apr 2026), so it does not apply to the versions in this pack.
62 mods are not checked yet.
Made with AI: not checked yet
We have not looked for AI tools in the pack itself yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
