Zonko's Monsters is a creature mod inspired by the worlds of Darkwood and The Witcher, adding hostile monsters and unsettling environmental effects. Its roster includes Witcher creatures such as Striga, Botchling, Katakan, Ekimmara, Garkain and Fleder, alongside Darkwood monsters including Lycanrows, Human Spiders, Swampers, Nekks, Chompers, Armored Arachas and Basilisks, as well as the original stalker spirit Housebane. The creatures have distinct behaviors: Striga grows faster and stronger as it takes damage, Lycanrows summon blinding offspring when they die, Botchlings can transform when hurt, and Swampers climb and squeeze through narrow gaps before slowing their victims. Vampires use varied tactics, from the Katakan's temporary invisibility and disorienting telepathy to the Ekimmara's bat-summoning retreat and the Garkain's disorienting sonic calls. Other threats include Nekks that hunt in packs, Chompers that become especially aggressive when woken, and Basilisks that can blind and wither areas outside homes at night while mimicking traumatic sounds. The mod also adds monster-linked equipment and items, including a hunger-draining Stone of Appetence that briefly grants extra health, a tablet that reveals nearby enemies, a schematics-gated arm cannon, the ability-granting Fangblade, the dual-wielding Maw Cleaver, Arachas armor and colored Bulblights. A nighttime hunting effect can cause players who make noise to be tracked by a Katakan, while some villagers and Vindicators may transform into vampires when killed at night. The mod adds 12 anomalies, which provide unsettling sounds for events such as going to bed, and its 14 new mobs currently drop vanilla items rather than dedicated drops.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
It has no file for a recent Minecraft version. This is about its files for Minecraft 1.12.2 to 1.16.5.
Adds 16 blocks, 28 items, 18 entities, 32 recipes, 1 advancement and 72 sounds.
Counted from the names and data files in the mod, so the list may not be complete.
Keeps all of vanilla Minecraft's textures, models and sounds.
No harmful code found
It has no file for a recent Minecraft version. This is about its files for Minecraft 1.12.2 to 1.16.5.
We checked its files and read their code, without running it.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
We found nothing it sends
It has no file for a recent Minecraft version. This is about its files for Minecraft 1.12.2 to 1.16.5.
We read its code without running it: it contacts no web address while you play.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files, images and sounds and found none.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
