A Shattered Prophecy (The Broken Script) is a horror-themed Minecraft modpack built around an ARG, using quests, lore, and atmospheric effects to draw players into a story of a forgotten past and a fractured destiny. Its custom quests guide players through the lore, while the included The End of Herobrine, Essential Mod, and Simple Voice Chat help shape the experience; keeping an eye on Sanity is part of the pack’s premise. The Broken Script’s world can change through strange events and randomly appearing structures, from hidden-message finds such as Carcas to clan bases like the restored or ruined Clan Base and the underground Cave Base; some structures help or mislead, and others can hurt players or lead to other dimensions. Those dimensions include Nowhere, with its layered mud terrain and exposed void, and Clan Void, a sequence of unsettling areas that includes open fields, wooden rooms, and a dark cobblestone maze; a pursuing Null-like entity can appear there. The pack also uses visual and audio cues to sustain its eerie, old-camera atmosphere, including a VHS effect that can be removed with /removevhs, and its world may show a progressively corrupted moon as part of a random event. The included quest content covers a tutorial and Chapter 1, while the broader ARG invites players to piece together story clues from signs, structures, and in-game discoveries.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.20.1 · Forge, 10 Mar 2025). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
Compared with the release of 9 Mar 2025 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. We do not compare the versions of the projects yet.
No harmful code found in its projects
We checked all 90 projects and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
6 mods send something about you
We read the code of all 81 of its mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 13 of the 68 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
13 mods are not checked yet.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
