Survive the freezing wilderness with scarce warmth and shelter.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 40 graded mods, 15 are graded A or B, 7 C and 18 D to F. Its newest release is for Minecraft 1.12.2. See the mods
Arctic Survival Inspired by Forge Labs is a hardcore survival modpack built around enduring 100 days in a frozen Canadian wilderness, recreating the atmosphere of Forge Labs’ Arctic Minecraft challenge as a fan-made pack. The world uses custom Biomes O’ Plenty generation with many vanilla biomes greatly reduced, creating an extreme snowy landscape where spawn location and migration affect the difficulty. Survival begins in mid-summer, the warmest point of the season, before temperatures plunge toward brutal extremes; snowfall accumulates in layers and drifts that make travel and building harder. Players must manage cold and thirst, find clean water, and gather wood and wool to make a fire, while campfires also let them cook. The pack adds penguins, fish, geese, bears, sharks, and tameable reindeer, alongside snowballs as weapons and Snowmancy-crafted fighting partners. Exploration includes villages, Roguelike dungeons that can offer shelter from the surface cold, and rare broken Nether portals; the Nether itself is also changed. Players can prepare foods such as maple syrup, pancakes, candied bacon, and maple biscuits, and use Antique Atlas for a balanced map.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.12.2 · Forge, 15 Feb 2021). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
Compared with the release of 8 Feb 2021 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in the mods we checked
We checked 39 of its 40 mods and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
Its mods send nothing about you
We read the code of 39 of its 40 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign that AI was used to make its mods
We found no AI use from before this release (15 Feb 2021) in the 21 mods we checked.
2 mods show AI use only from after it, so it does not apply to the versions in this pack.
19 mods are not checked yet.
Made with AI: not checked yet
We have not looked for AI tools in the pack itself yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
