A starter pack of essential mods to build on.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 201 graded mods, 190 are graded A or B, 11 C and none D to F. Its last update came out 2 days ago, for Minecraft 26.1.2. See the mods
Essentials Mods is a lightweight foundation for other modpacks and personal customizations, while also aiming to provide a more enjoyable Minecraft experience on its own. It adds immersive ambience and visual touches through mods such as AmbientSounds, Ambient Environment, Falling Leaves, and Visuality, alongside quality-of-life tools including Inventory HUD+, FallingTree, Jade, and Polymorph. For exploration and new content, the pack includes more than a hundred animals through Alex’s Mobs and adds structures from YUNG’s mods, Medieval Buildings, and Additional Structures. It also brings vanilla-focused improvements such as Better Archeology, Better Advancements, and Better Burning, and supports shaders through Oculus and Xenon, with Complementary Shaders - Unbound included as a recommendation. Multiplayer-oriented additions include Simple Voice Chat, Security Craft, and YDM’s Weapon Master.
Written from Modrinth . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 26.1.2 · NeoForge, 13 May 2026). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
No harmful code found in its projects
We checked all 129 projects and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
5 mods send something about you
We read the code of all 117 of its mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 20 of the 117 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
