A horror modpack with old PlayStation graphics and familiar gameplay.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 59 graded mods, 50 are graded A or B, 9 C and none D to F. Its newest release is for Minecraft 1.20.1. See the mods
From The Fog PSX edition is a Vanilla+ modpack that keeps familiar Minecraft gameplay while refining its core mechanics and adding a horror experience centered on the Herobrine legend, with the threat of being watched during ordinary survival. Its visual options include PSX-style graphics alongside a classic texture pack and an updated alternative, letting players choose between an old-school look and a refreshed one. The added content spans exploration, building, food, and quality-of-life features, including Alex’s Mobs, Overhauled Villages, Farmer’s Delight, Comforts, Sophisticated Backpacks, and a minimap and map. Ambient Sounds, Sound Physics, Dynamic Lights, Better Third Person, First Person View Model, Eating Animation, and Not Enough Animations add further audiovisual and perspective details.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.20.1 · Forge, 12 Oct 2023). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
1 file not listed: no matching project found.
Compared with the release of 12 Oct 2023 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in the projects we checked
We checked all 59 projects, without running them.
We have not checked the files in the pack itself yet (settings, scripts).
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
4 mods send something about you
We read the code of all 57 of its mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign that AI was used to make its mods
We found no AI use from before this release (12 Oct 2023) in the 54 mods we checked.
3 mods show AI use only from after it, so it does not apply to the versions in this pack.
3 mods are not checked yet.
Made with AI: not checked yet
We have not looked for AI tools in the pack itself yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
