Sophisticated Backpacks

Sophisticated Backpacks adds customizable portable storage that players can wear, open as an item, or place in the world as an automatable container. Its six tiers, from Leather through Netherite, provide progressively more inventory and upgrade slots, and backpacks can be colored with separate main and accent dyes for personalization and visual sorting. A broad selection of upgrades turns a backpack into a configurable utility hub: Pickup and Magnet collect filtered items, Void discards unwanted items, Compacting combines resources, and Feeding supplies food when the player is hungry. Smelting, Smoking, and Blasting upgrades process materials, while Crafting, Stonecutter, Anvil, and Smithing upgrades provide familiar workstations directly from the backpack. Other upgrades handle inventory transfers and restocking, refill selected player slots, increase or limit stack sizes, play music discs, protect the backpack from destruction, and automatically swap to an appropriate tool or weapon. Tank and Battery upgrades add fluid and energy storage, with pumping and experience-management options; the Experience Pump can also repair equipped Mending items. Alchemy can consume potions or other effect-granting items under configured conditions, and an Inception upgrade allows one level of backpack nesting while keeping nested backpacks' upgrades functional. Optional integrations include Curios for wearing a backpack in its Back slot, recipe viewers such as JEI, REI, and EMI for crafting-grid recipe filling, and support for workbench functionality from Chipped and Sawmill. Configuration lets modpacks adjust tier storage and upgrade slots, filter capacity, and upgrade behavior, or disable individual backpacks and upgrades.
