A modpack that gives modern worlds a classic Beta-era look.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 180 graded mods, 138 are graded A or B, 35 C and 7 D to F. Its last update came out 3 weeks ago, for Minecraft 1.20.1. See the mods
Reminiscence gives modern Minecraft a Beta-era look and feel, using classic-inspired resource packs and textures while retaining modern content. Its world-generation options include Beta-style terrain mixed with modern biomes, a hybrid mode with broad oceans and rivers alongside hillier, more chaotic landscapes, and a Beta 1.7.3 preset with its characteristic hills. The pack adds a deeper food system through Farmer’s Delight, utility features from Supplementaries, backpacks, copper armor and tools, and the Aether; copper tools come with Fortune or Looting by default. It also reworks structures with YUNG’s mods, overhauls the Nether with Amplified Nether, and changes the Ender Dragon fight through True Ending: Ender Dragon Overhaul. The Aether receives an additional dungeon upgrade, and the pack includes old and unused music, restored achievements, and a progression intended to reward taking the game slowly while still offering goals for more driven players.
Written from Modrinth and CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.20.1 · Forge, 3 Oct 2026). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
Compared with the release of 2 Oct 2026 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. Same mods in both. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in its projects
We checked all 181 projects and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
7 mods send something about you
We read the code of all 180 of its mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 10 of the 154 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
26 mods are not checked yet.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
