Vanilla Forge Essentials is a client-side quality-of-life modpack that keeps ordinary Minecraft gameplay intact, adding no new blocks, items, or world generation and allowing players to continue on existing worlds. It combines a minimap and world map with a light-level overlay, configurable grid, zoom, and tools for finding ore generation and viewing mob drops and block drops. Everyday interface and inventory features include a fullscreen advancements screen, keybind management, item sorting and mouse-based inventory moves, sign editing, a trash slot, and tooltips that reveal shulker-box contents. JEI displays items and recipes, while its companion information tools provide details such as enchantment descriptions, mob drops, and ore generation. Builders can project shapes such as circles and spheres into the world, view a configurable grid, and use small terrain and building conveniences such as paths under gates and converting dirt to path blocks. Other practical tweaks include faster leaf decay in singleplayer, faster ladder climbing, named villagers, bee information for beehives, damage indicators, and a death chest that keeps a player's items from despawning. The pack also includes performance-oriented tweaks and small fixes, and can serve as a template for people building their own modpacks.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.16.5 · Forge, 6 May 2021). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
1 file not listed: no matching project found.
No harmful code found in its mods
We checked all 57 mods and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
3 mods send something about you
We read the code of all 57 of its mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 2 of the 39 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
18 mods are not checked yet.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
