Blue's Better Monsters is a resource pack that refreshes hostile mobs with more realistic models, textures, and animations. It reworks zombies and their variations, skeletons, wither skeletons, creepers, spiders, witches, and endermen, with examples including husks, drowned, zombie villagers, and crawling baby zombies. Mobs have new idle, walking, attack, and death animations, with randomized deaths making encounters less repetitive. Some creepers disguise themselves as other mobs, with subtle clues to their mimicry before they transform back as they approach. When a mob takes enough damage before dying, it may lose limbs; spiders can also lose legs and adjust their gait, and can dangle from ceilings while climbing walls. Witches jump onto brooms when their health is low and fly away when killed, while baby zombies crawl instead of running upright. Wither skeletons charge with shields raised and lower them to attack at close range, and transition into a falling animation after falling for a while; these shield interactions are cosmetic and do not change their ability to block damage.
Written from Modrinth and CurseForge . How we write it
Changes 4 mob and entity textures (Zombie).
Adds 1 mob and entity texture. In OptiFine's formats: 65 entity models and 58 glowing textures.
Textures are mostly 64 by 64 pixels.
No harmful code found
We checked what is inside its files, without opening them in the game.
Why we show this: a resource pack cannot run programs, but its file can hide one. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade.
Sends nothing
A resource pack has no code that can connect to the internet, so it cannot send anything about you.
No sign that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files and images and found none.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
