A horror modpack filled with monsters that stalk you as you explore.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 92 graded mods, 54 are graded A or B, 26 C and 12 D to F. Its last update came out 3 months ago, for Minecraft 1.20.1. See the mods
True Horror is a horror-focused modpack for exploring a threatening world and surviving encounters with unsettling creatures. Its featured mods include From The Fog, Siren Head: The Arrival, The Knocker, Zombie Awareness, Thalassophobia, Beware The Rain, and The Cannibal Mod, bringing threats such as Siren Head and other fresh monsters into exploration. The pack also adds new analog monsters, a Wendigo, horror-themed structures and blocks, and more powerful zombies; players cannot sleep through the night and must survive it. Improved flashlights support exploration, while fallen players can be revived and multiplayer is intended to run with fewer crashes.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.20.1 · Forge, 14 Jul 2026). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
1 file not listed: no matching project found.
Compared with the release of 9 Mar 2025 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. We do not compare the versions of the projects yet.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
4 mods send something about you
We read the code of 75 of its 81 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 2 of the 64 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
17 mods are not checked yet.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
