About
Default HD 256x gives Minecraft’s familiar default look a high-resolution 256x treatment while preserving its original style and pixel designs. Smooth shading and shadows add depth and a shader-like feel without the performance cost of using shaders. The available version is a demo with a handful of textures in 256x resolution, and it also introduces PBR mapping.

Changes 152 block textures, 396 item textures, 341 mob and entity textures, 17 armor textures, 26 paintings, 138 particle textures, 32 status effect icons and 20 other files.
Adds 6 block textures, 37 item textures, 60 mob and entity textures, 1 particle texture and 1 map texture. In OptiFine's formats: 10 connected textures and varied textures for 2 mobs.
Block textures are mostly 256 by 256 pixels, up to 512 by 512. 3 block and item textures are animated.
