A shader that keeps the familiar look with shadows and colored light.

Shrimple is a Minecraft Java shader designed to keep a minimal, vanilla-like look while offering selectable lighting and visual effects. Its options include waving plants, FXAA anti-aliasing, sharp or soft sun-and-moon shadows, colored lighting, volumetric fog lighting, and tone-mapping. Lighting profiles range from vanilla lighting with FXAA, through dynamic shadows and per-vertex or per-pixel colored lighting, to ray-traced block-light shadows; colored lighting can also represent nearby light sources such as torches, candles, and fire. Material effects include normal mapping, smooth or sharp parallax depth, specular reflections, and support for OldPBR and LabPBR texture packs, alongside screen-space reflections by default. With the Photonics mod, it can add ray-traced block- and hand-light shadows, world-space reflections, and global illumination. Additional visual options cover wet-looking surfaces and rain puddles, several water-wave styles, and sky reflections on specular materials.
Written from Modrinth and the GitHub README . How we write it
Changes how the game looks: 131 shader programs, for the Overworld, the Nether and the End. Draws its own shadows, water, sky, clouds and weather.
Settings in German, English and Russian. Has programs for Distant Horizons.
No harmful code found
We checked what is inside its files, without opening them in the game.
Why we show this: a shader cannot run programs, but its file can hide one. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade.
Sends nothing
A shader has no code that can connect to the internet, so it cannot send anything about you.
No sign so far that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its description, files, images and code history and found none.
We have not read its changelogs yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
