Alex's Mobs enriches Minecraft worlds with 89 creatures, combining real-world animals with fictional monsters whose models, textures, animations, and behavior are designed to fit the game's style. Its wildlife ranges from grizzly bears, roadrunners, orcas, and rhinoceroses to aquatic life such as hammerhead sharks, catfish, and giant squid, alongside fantastical creatures including the Bone Serpent, Enderiophage, and Void Worm. Creatures inhabit varied environments and have distinct behaviors: seagulls can steal food, leafcutter ants build and populate anthills, and grizzly bears and moose can gather snow on their backs during snowstorms. Most animals are not immediately hostile but may react to proximity or attacks, while many fantastical mobs are hostile; some creatures also have distinctive abilities, such as the Skreecher alerting a Warden or the Farseer appearing at the world's edge. Mobs can provide unique drops through specific behaviors rather than requiring the player to kill rare or endangered animals, and their items can be used to craft weapons, arrows, potions, and armor with special effects. The Animal Dictionary introduces the creatures and explains their uses and drops, with a page for an animal accessible by using the book on it. Spawn settings can be configured by biome, biome category, or dimension, making the mod adaptable to worlds that use custom biomes and dimensions.
Written from Modrinth and CurseForge . How we write it
Does not change the game's code directly.
Adds 37 blocks, 255 items, 117 entities, 4 enchantments, 84 recipes, 106 advancements, 114 loot tables and 216 sounds.
Counted from the names and data files in the mod, so the list may not be complete.
Keeps all of vanilla Minecraft's textures, models and sounds.
No harmful code found
We checked its files and read their code, without running it.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
We found nothing it sends
We read its code without running it: it contacts no web address while you play.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
An AI tool may have been used
GitHub Copilot (coding agent) took part in its pull requests.
This does not show that it was used to make the files you download.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
