Vault Hunters Third Edition is an action RPG modpack that builds its progression around exploring the dangerous, procedurally generated Vault dimension while players also develop a base and farms in the overworld. To begin a run, players gather Chromatic Iron and Vault Stone, fulfill the changing material requests of the Vault Altar to make a Vault Crystal, and use it to enter a Vault portal. Vaults vary in rooms, themes, and objectives, including Elixir collection and Scavenger hunts; players must complete objectives before the timer expires, facing increasingly difficult enemies in search of Vault Loot and Vault Gear. Vault-specific enemies range from large hordes and hard-hitting Assassins to Champions, Challenge Room Guardians, and powerful Elites, while defeating mobs can earn Soul Shards for purchases at the Black Market Table. A separate Vault-level system, talents, and abilities let players shape their character and tackle increasingly challenging, more rewarding runs. Progress also depends on research: Knowledge Dust can be made into Knowledge Stars, which unlock mod content across categories such as Storage, Power, Big Mods, and quality-of-life options, with each choice affecting the cost of later research. Collecting all 25 Artifacts unlocks the Final Vault, and defeating its final boss opens access to the Greed end-game loot. Players can run Vaults together and share mod research, and a Sky Vaults map offers an alternate sky-island start where Vaults provide the materials needed for altar progression.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.18.2 · Forge, 28 Jul 2026). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
1 file not listed: no matching project found.
Compared with the release of 25 Jul 2026 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. Same mods in both. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in its mods
We checked all 167 mods and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
4 mods send something about you
We read the code of 166 of its 167 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 16 of the 135 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
32 mods are not checked yet.
Made with AI: not checked yet
We have not looked for AI tools in the pack itself yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
