Base Metals expands Minecraft’s metalworking with naturally occurring metals, alloys, equipment, and building materials, alongside fantasy metals with distinctive properties. Its natural metals include copper, silver, tin, lead, zinc, mercury, nickel, and platinum, while its alloys include bronze, brass, steel, invar, electrum, cupronickel, and pewter. Ores can be processed into powders and smelted into ingots; combining metal powders and smelting the resulting blend produces alloys such as copper-and-tin bronze or iron-and-carbon steel. The crack hammer crushes ores and other eligible blocks into their powdered ingredients, with many metal ores yielding two powders, and can also crush dropped items when used on the ground beneath them. Fantasy materials include Nether-sourced Cold Iron and Adamantine, End-sourced Starsteel, and crafted Aquarium and Mithril. These materials add specialized effects: Cold Iron improves combat against fire-immune creatures and grants a full suit Fire Resistance; Adamantine armor grants Resistance; Aquarium armor provides underwater breathing and protection; Mithril weapons are effective against undead; and held Starsteel equipment repairs itself while Starsteel armor helps its wearer jump higher and fall more slowly. The mod also supports bows, arrows, crossbows, and bolts whose damage varies by material, and offers High Fantasy and Low Fantasy content modes.
Written from CurseForge and the GitHub README . How we write it
Adds 387 blocks, 890 items, 2,844 recipes, 18 advancements and 12 loot tables.
Counted from the names and data files in the mod, so the list may not be complete.
Keeps all of vanilla Minecraft's textures, models and sounds.
No harmful code found
We checked its files without running them.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
We found nothing it sends, in the 1 of its 2 files we read
We read its code without running it: it contacts no web address while you play.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files, images and code history and found none.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
