About
(Sodium) Chloride is a performance and quality addon for Sodium that adds configurable optimizations and visual controls. For performance, it can cull distant entities and block entities while allowing whitelist exceptions, reduce rendered faces among groups of leaves, and replace animated chest and bed models with solid ones. It can also keep JEI, REI, and EMI overlays hidden until you enter a search, and reload language settings in under a second. Visual options include several true-darkness levels, which still respond to moonlight and block lights, plus controls for fog and the blue band, nametag hiding, and an adjustable zoom. A movable display can show average, minimum, and current FPS alongside memory and GPU usage, while borderless fullscreen supports quick app switching and text shadows can be disabled. A settings locker can hide the visual utility controls, and the engine hotswap option allows switching between OpenGL and Vulkan in-game when enabled; it is incompatible with Iris.
