About
Climatic Biomes reshapes biome placement around a semi-realistic climate model, creating large continents where biomes transition along believable hot-to-cold and dry-to-wet gradients rather than appearing in chaotic or repetitive groupings. You can choose Climatic Vanilla, which keeps Minecraft’s default terrain, or Climatic Realistic, which pairs climatic biome placement with more varied, realistic terrain. Worlds include large landmasses and a surrounding ocean, with broad, navigable river systems that can join together, while the realistic terrain option adds substantial hills and mountains. The mod includes 29 vanilla-friendly biomes, most of which can be disabled, including subtropical forest, pinewoods, chaparral, marsh, bog, active volcano, and volcanic island biomes. It can place biomes from other biome mods in the same climate system, with named examples including Biomes O’ Plenty, Traverse, Novam Terram, Auxiliary Biomes, Environs, Project Vibrant Journeys, and Biomes You’ll Go; some additions may require configuration. Biome variations can also be given different terrain, allowing custom variations to distinguish themselves in the landscape.
