About
Companion Bats adds a tameable bat sidekick: feed a regular bat pumpkin pie, then summon the tamed bat from its inventory item and recall it with its flute; if the flute is still available, the bat returns to the player's inventory when in danger or too far away. The bat gains experience by fighting mobs and becomes stronger as it levels, while feeding it the rare Pie o' Enchanting found in treasure chests also trains it. Equipment found in dimension-spanning treasure chests gives the bat a class with its own leveling track and abilities; examples include the Inferno's fire attacks and resistance, the Alchemist's healing and potion buffs, the Ninja's sneak attacks and teleportation, and the Looter’s speed and owner-supporting luck effect. Accessories add individual abilities, and each piece of armor changes the bat's appearance; a class that reaches its maximum level also grants a permanent ability that remains active when the bat wears different armor. With a bundle equipped in its bundle slot, the bat can collect items from the ground and transfer them to its owner's inventory when nearby.
