Essential Commands is a configurable, server-side utility mod that gives Minecraft servers a set of player, teleportation, and administration commands, and can also be used in singleplayer worlds. Players can request to teleport to one another, set and visit personal homes, create and use server-wide warps, travel to spawn or a random location, and return to a previous location; server settings can also allow returning to the place of death. The command set also includes nicknames, flight controls, AFK status, invulnerability, and quick access to workbench, anvil, ender chest, stonecutter, and grindstone screens, alongside time and height utilities. Commands can be individually enabled or disabled and configured, while permissions can be assigned to commands and subcommands through supported permission systems such as LuckPerms. Server operators can tune options such as home limits, random-teleport distance, teleport delays, and whether teleporting between dimensions is allowed.
Written from Modrinth , CurseForge and the GitHub README . How we write it
Changes the game's code in 4 areas: Server and world logicChanges 5 game code files in this area: the world, commands, scoreboards, saved data and game rules., PlayerChanges 4 game code files in this area: your character: movement, abilities, hunger and controls., Networking and multiplayerChanges 3 game code files in this area: connections, the server list and what is sent between your game and a server. and Mobs and their behaviorChanges 1 game code file in this area: mobs, animals, villagers, projectiles and how they move and act..
Libraries packed inside it change 7 more game code files: Server Translations API and Pal.
Adds no new blocks, items or other content.
Keeps all of vanilla Minecraft's textures, models and sounds.
No harmful code found
We checked its files and read their code, without running it.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
essential_commands-0.38.4-mc1.21.8.jar, CurseForge essential_commands-0.38.4-mc1.21.8.jar. 1 class changed, 5 classes only in the CurseForge file, in com.fibermc.essentialcommands: NamedLocationStorage, NamedLocationStorageDataFixer$AddNameFieldFix (CurseForge only), NamedLocationStorageDataFixer$V0 (CurseForge only), NamedLocationStorageDataFixer$V0p1 (CurseForge only), NamedLocationStorageDataFixer$V1 (CurseForge only), NamedLocationStorageDataFixer (CurseForge only). We found nothing it sends about you
We read its code without running it: it contacts 2 web addresses while you play.
Like any connection, each address it contacts sees your IP address.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI was used for its code and text
The author declares AI code and text on Modrinth.
Claude Code is named in the files of its repository.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
CLAUDE.mdWeak signA branch name only. It does not show that the tool was used.: A branch named like those Claude Code creates claude/claude-md-mi1thsf01kgqtew6-01G1FVTMk4tiXSoa759NRCMRPoint at or tap a version to see its loaders.
These projects do not work together with Essential Commands: their authors or Essential Commands' author say so. If you install both, the game can crash or some features can stop working. Some of them do the same job as Essential Commands, so you only need one.

458 modpacks include Essential Commands in at least one of their versions. Here are the 30 most downloaded.
Mods that modpacks often add together with Essential Commands. Share: how many of the modpacks with Essential Commands also have that mod.
The newest file for each Minecraft version and loader. The files for recent versions come first. Recent versions: those released in the last 2 years, plus 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, among the most played in modpacks.
In the last 2 years, 1 release needed a quick fix: a new release within 3 days to fix a problem. This counts in the grade, but it is too few to lose points.
