    About

    Ingredient Extension API provides a framework and patches for mod developers to add custom Minecraft Ingredient types and serializers, including implementations that can differ from vanilla item matching. These custom ingredients can express matching rules such as requiring particular NBT tags or accepting furnace fuels only within a specified burn-time range, helping support complex logic and compatibility between mods. Mods can use the new ingredient types in JSON-based features such as data-pack crafting recipes and advancement criteria, with the ingredient type identified by its registry ID and any required properties supplied in the JSON. Custom ingredients support multiplayer and can be sent from a server to clients for recipes and advancements; connecting players need the API and the mods that provide those ingredient types, but do not need copies of the server's new recipe data-pack files.
