    About

    Magic From The East is an add-on for Iron’s Spells and Spellbooks that brings in magic inspired by the ancient cultures and myths of Asia and the Middle East. Its Symmetry school draws on jade, qi, and the harmony of heaven and earth, with spells such as Jade Bullet, which creates a shockwave on impact, and Cloud Ride, which summons a rideable cloud. Other Symmetry spells summon magical swords, raise nephrite crystals, create a Bagua circle that damages undead and reverses healing for its caster, or call down a giant jade weapon for area damage. The Spirit school focuses on soul magic, letting players burn or manipulate enemy souls and summon allies such as Kitsune, a Spirit Samurai, Ashigaru, and charging samurai horsemen. Its spells include soul-skull projectiles, a soul-fire burst, Bone Hands that strike nearby targets, and Spirit Challenging, which transfers some damage dealt to a separated soul back to its owner. The mod also adds equipment and crafting materials, including the Spirit Crusher great club, Jadestone, Crystallized Soul, and Symmetry and Spirit runes; it integrates these materials with Iron’s Gems and Jewelry. Jadestone can be mined in jungle and mountain biomes and used for a new building-block set, while Jiangshi appear as rare hostile undead at night and hunt players and villagers. A configuration option lets players adjust the mod’s gameplay.
