About
MonsterPlus adds environment-specific monsters and combat rewards to make exploration more challenging and engaging. Its enemies include fire-wielding Desert Sorceresses and Acolytes, glowing underground skeletons, crystal-summoning Crystalians, and poison-inflicting Swamp Monsters and Overgrown Skeletons found in wetland, jungle, and lush-cave settings. The Nether has groups of normally passive Lava Squids that retaliate with fireballs when attacked, as well as a rarer, aggressive Mother Lava Squid that calls in nearby squids and continually produces more while alive. Other threats include night-flying Demon Eyes with different size and color variants, teleporting Ender Watchers, and the rare underground Hermit Abysswalker, which uses Darkness and crystal attacks and summons Opalescent Eyes and Spectral Minions. The rare Corrupted Ancient Hero is a deep-cave boss that becomes faster and more dangerous as its armor breaks; below half health, its head detaches to attack with skull projectiles while its body continues fighting in melee. Drops and crafting extend combat into progression: crystals from Crystalians and Abysswalkers support the Crystal equipment and crystal-spike weapons, while scrolls turn enemy drops into craftable spells and a Bone Staff fires Spectral Skull projectiles. The Ancient Hero can drop its broken sword, used to craft Darkstar, a weapon that raises a long line of damaging crystals with each swing; its dark armor pieces have protection comparable to netherite armor.
