    About

    Photon is an in-game visual-effects editor and toolkit for creating effects for Minecraft content, with a Unity-inspired particle system and tools for mod authors and players to build, preview, and play their own effects. Its editor supports particles, trails, beams, and a non-linear timeline for sequencing effects and keyframing emitter properties. Creators can shape particles with modules for velocity, rotation, size, and color over time, as well as noise, collision, sub-emitters, external forces, curves, gradients, and random ranges. Materials can be authored as node-based shader graphs using inputs such as textures, UVs, scene color and depth, and reusable subgraphs, while custom-written shaders are also supported. An effect graph can combine fullscreen post-processing, including bloom, depth of field, blurs, vignette, chromatic aberration, glitch, film grain, outlines, and color grading; named masks can limit culling or outlining effects to selected pixels. Effects can use local, world, or custom simulation space, force fields such as gravity and vortex, and particles rendered as 3D meshes from OBJ or JSON models or built-in primitives. Creators can export effects and their referenced materials, graphs, meshes, textures, and shaders together as an FX Pack, then play effects with commands or integrate them into code and bind them to blocks or entities.
