About
ShieldBreak replaces vanilla’s axe-based shield-breaking behavior with mechanics that account for shield durability, incoming damage, the attacker’s weapon, and parrying. A shield absorbs damage according to its durability; an attack that exceeds its protection puts the shield on cooldown, with the duration scaling to the damage dealt. A well-timed parry blocks an attack regardless of its damage and knocks the attacker back farther than usual. Axes and weapons such as Spartan Weaponry halberds can also trigger a substantial shield cooldown, with configurable chances and an additional chance from Sharpness, independently of damage or a parry. The mechanics are configurable, and installing the mod on the client can add shield tooltips showing how much damage they can block.
