About
Simply Skills adds an experience-driven combat skill system in which defeating enemies earns levels and skill points for a base tree built around three starting paths: Initiate, Wayfarer, and Warrior. The base tree offers passive abilities that can change how combat works, rather than only increasing attributes, and its 42-point limit makes choices matter for shaping a build. Reaching a specialisation path unlocks a separate class tree, with eight documented choices: Spellblade, Wizard, Necromancer, Cleric, Crusader, Berserker, Ranger, and Rogue; only one specialisation can be active at a time. Each specialisation offers distinctive passive skills and a choice of signature ability, which can often be further improved through its tree and has a cooldown. The abilities and effects range from homing elemental arrows, arrow rain, and periodic arcane or frost bolts to stealth, damage-absorbing barriers, healing melee attacks, and rotating daggers that strike nearby enemies. After investing 42 points in the base tree, players can unlock an uncapped Ascendancy tree for further progression and a second active ability, with only one Ascendancy ability available at a time. A Malevolent Manuscript can reset the base and Ascendancy trees and refund their points, but changing specialisation erases its invested points without refunding them.
