Simply Tooltips provides data-driven, themed rendering for item tooltips, giving modded items with matching theme files custom presentation by default, with configuration options to include all modded items or vanilla items as well. Themes can customize tooltip colours, motifs, borders, item frames, animations, and text, while item, tag, and data-component mappings can select themes, badges, and borders for specific items or groups. Its preset themes and motifs include styles such as amethyst, ember, runic, ocean, and cosmic, and custom borders can use built-in patterns or patterns defined by resource packs. A built-in Theme Studio lets players preview real item tooltips, adjust theme styling and badges, save custom themes, and assign them to items; its saved files can also be copied into resource packs. The renderer incorporates text and standard tooltip components supplied through Minecraft's tooltip pipeline, and a compatibility provider can format Simply Swords-style items with separate lore and stats tabs, graphical stat bars, action-label headings, and button hints. Players can also create short GIFs of on-screen tooltips for showcasing their themes.
Written from Modrinth , CurseForge and the GitHub README . How we write it
Changes the game's code in 2 areas, as a library other mods build on: Game optionsChanges 1 game code file in this area: settings, key bindings and the option screens. and User interfaceChanges 1 game code file in this area: menus, screens, tooltips, the chat window and the in-game overlay..
Adds 2 key bindings: Capture Tooltip GIF and Cycle Tooltip Tab.
Counted from the names and data files in the mod, so the list may not be complete.
Keeps all of vanilla Minecraft's textures, models and sounds.
No harmful code found
We checked its files and read their code, without running it.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
We found nothing it sends
We read its code without running it: it contacts no web address while you play.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files, images and code history and found none.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
