    About

    Snow! Real Magic! enriches vanilla snow with configurable behavior, making snow cover and accumulation more dynamic in the world. Snow can share a block with fences, walls, and tall grass, while slabs, stairs, walls, fences, and fence gates can become snow-covered through placement, snowfall, or world generation. Snow layers can fall like sand and freeze into ice on contact with a water source, build up during snowfall or thunderstorms, melt naturally or in warm biomes, or be set never to melt. Snow is replaceable by other blocks until it reaches a full layer, has a thinner collision box, and cushions falls more as its layers deepen. Players can scrape a snow layer into a snowball with a shovel or an empty hand while sneaking, and can toggle the decorative snow overlay on snow-covered blocks with empty hands. Configuration options control the mod’s snow and snow-cover behavior, while datapacks can specify which blocks snow can cover, which covered plants receive snowy forms, and where snow may accumulate. Resource packs can provide custom models for snow-covered blocks, and an optional rule can restrict seasonal accumulation to winter when a seasons mod is present.
