    About

    Spellblades and Such expands Spell Engine with weapons and armor for fighting with magic alongside melee combat. Its spellblades favor quick, close-range casting, while claymores trade attack speed for heavier hits and elemental spinning attacks; orbs let you cast without slowing your movement and emphasize wide-area effects or versatility over damage. Weapon spells can be bound through a Spell Binding Table, and the Spellstrike ability lets spellblades and claymores build spell haste and trigger a queued spell on a melee hit, or add damage based on spell power when no spell is queued. The mod also includes spellbooks with distinct combat styles, such as technique books for melee-range spells, Deathchill Tome for chilling enemies, Phoenix Rites for fire damage over time, and Echoes Unleashed for chaining repeated casts. Rune, Magister, Herald, and Magus armor sets provide differing spell attributes and reabsorption, which restores absorption after the wearer has avoided being hit for a time. Casting magic can attract the Hexblade faction: a Magister may demand payment, and refusing can bring a hostile squad; their drops can lead to a fight with Magus, whose changing elemental defenses reward matching his current element. Defeating Magus can yield distinctive rewards including Magus robes, the Starforge, and randomized Ashes of the Stars or Crystallised Omniscience trinkets.
