About
The Beneath adds a vast, configurable mining dimension designed as an alternative to the Deep Dark. Players reach it through a Beneath Teleporter, whose crafting recipe can be customized, and configuration can allow travel between the dimension and places other than the Overworld. The dimension includes configurable ore and block generation, with options to adjust its terrain block, dungeon and lake frequency, and stalactite and stalagmite generation; its built-in ore generator can be disabled in favor of another mod’s system. Mobs that spawn there have configurable health and damage multipliers, set to twice their normal values by default. Its darkness can spawn Grues when the Grue mod is installed, damage players directly, or be set to cause no damage, while shadow hands can also pull players into the dark. The dimension also features unsettling ambient sounds and configurable colors for the sky while Night Vision is active.
