A magic modpack in the Twilight Forest.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 101 graded mods, 58 are graded A or B, 18 C and 25 D to F. Its last update came out 2 years ago, for Minecraft 1.16.5. See the mods
Arcane Twilight is a magic-focused modpack that casts you as a scout sent by the resource-strapped High Mage Society to explore the Twilight Forest as a possible home for magekind, with no return route and only a small starting supply of items. It reshapes the familiar forest with new sights, altered loot, and quests, while resource-based progression gates encourage exploration without making the experience feel like a rigidly guided campaign. Its magic systems are grouped into three factions: Nature/Living, including Botania, Roots, and Nature's Aura; Cursed/Dark, including Blood Magic, Eidolon, and Occultism; and Crystalline/Ancient, including Astral Sorcery, Ars Nouveau, and Elemental Craft. The quest book introduces the pack's changes while leaving room for sandbox exploration, and the journey has three endings plus a secret ending. Progression ties magic to the forest's resources and discoveries: for example, giants provide Brightstone used in crafting Corundum, while materials from the Yeti Caves include Snowberries and Eye Bones. Psi also has a dedicated progression path, with Ebony and Ivory obtainable through spell infusion in the Inner Realm and Psimetal crafted using Knightmetal.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.16.5 · Forge, 9 Oct 2024). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
Compared with the release of 13 Jul 2023 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. Same mods in both. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in the mods we checked
We checked 102 of its 103 mods and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
3 mods send something about you
We read the code of 102 of its 103 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 6 of the 66 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
37 mods are not checked yet.
Made with AI: not checked yet
We have not looked for AI tools in the pack itself yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
