A modpack with video settings, zoom, shaders, and handy extras.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 35 graded mods, 35 are graded A or B, 0 C and none D to F. Its last update came out 4 months ago, for Minecraft 26.1.2. See the mods
Better MC is a Fabric Vanilla+ modpack designed as an OptiFine alternative, combining graphics and performance enhancements with additional quality-of-life features. Its video settings interface is highly configurable, and the pack adds a Mods menu, zooming, Fullbright and night vision, an enhanced hunger bar, and an armor HUD that displays armor in an offhand-style slot. A Just Enough Items-style crafting interface helps with recipes, and the pack also includes Litematica. Sodium provides much of the graphics and performance work, while Iris supports shaders; shader examples include Complementary Shaders and MakeUp - Ultra Fast. The pack is intended to work on plugin-based and vanilla servers.
Written from Modrinth and the GitHub README . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 26.1.2 · Fabric, 12 Jun 2026). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
No harmful code found in its projects
We checked all 35 projects and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
4 mods send something about you
We read the code of all 31 of its mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 3 of the 31 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files, images and code history yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
