Create: Gears of History is a quest-driven modpack built around a journey from the Stone Age to the Modern Era, with a chapter-based questbook guiding progression toward crafting the Chromatic Compound. Its progression reshapes Create with recipe overhauls, progression tweaks, custom mechanics, and advanced item automation, alongside carefully chosen low-tech mods and stage-appropriate storage and transport options. The pack includes more than 170 mods and over 650 custom quests and rewards, with examples such as Create, Farmer’s Delight, and Supplementaries. Terralith overhauls world generation, while new structures, villages, dungeons, and strongholds add places to explore and conquer. Other additions include vanilla-style weapons, enchantments, tool and armor upgrades, hundreds of building blocks and decorations, new crops and trees, and a large range of foods and drinks with gameplay bonuses. The pack also features conveniences such as Waystones, backpacks, enchantment transfer, and cycling villager trades, and supports peaceful play with alternative ways to obtain mob resources. Built-in shaders and examples such as molten-ore automation and robot chefs round out the experience.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.21.1 · NeoForge, 21 May 2026). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
Compared with the release of 24 Apr 2026 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in the projects we checked
We checked 234 of its 236 projects and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
9 mods send something about you
We read the code of 213 of its 214 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 20 of the 180 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
34 mods are not checked yet.
Made with AI: not checked yet
We have not looked for AI tools in the pack itself yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
