A skyblock adventure where alchemy helps you find your way home.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 163 graded mods, 123 are graded A or B, 37 C and 3 D to F. Its last update came out 7 weeks ago, for Minecraft 1.20.1. See the mods
High-Altitude Alchemy is a ProjectE-centered skyblock modpack about escaping a reality-fracturing catastrophe and finding a way home from a small island suspended in the void. Rather than relying on traditional skyblock resource-generation mods such as Ex Nihilo, its progression asks you to synthesize materials from your starting resources and use EMC transmutation to build up what you need. A central progression check is Prismatter, which calls for exploring the pack’s different mods and automating a broad range of items; later stages include Cosmatter and Luminessence, leading toward the goal of travelling home. The pack combines technology and magic from mods including Mekanism, Botania, Applied Energistics 2, Malum, and Embers Aetherworks. Along the way, you create custom items, single-block machines, and multiblocks, with questlines including Refraction, Building an Arsenal, and Coalescence. Its endgame uses creative items in service of the journey home, and the pack is designed as a puzzle to work through rather than a guide to learning modded Minecraft.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.20.1 · Forge, 7 Sep 2026). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
Compared with the release of 22 Aug 2026 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. Same mods in both. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in its mods
We checked all 163 mods and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
4 mods send something about you
We read the code of all 163 of its mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 5 of the 134 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
4 other mods show AI use only from after this release (7 Sep 2026), so it does not apply to the versions in this pack.
29 mods are not checked yet.
Made with AI: not checked yet
We have not looked for AI tools in the pack itself yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
