Pretty Without Shaders is a client-side modpack intended to make vanilla Minecraft look more polished without relying on shaders. Its visual enhancements include changing scenes such as sunrise, sunset and nighttime, along with dynamic lights, wakes, improved explosions and a BetterEnd sky; the gallery also shows locations including a pillager outpost and an ancient city. The pack also includes audio improvements, dynamic music and quality-of-life changes, and supports downloading resource packs in game. It is described as server-friendly, and most included mods can be configured or disabled to suit the player's preferences. The gallery notes compatibility with Fresh Animations.
Written from Modrinth and CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.20.4 · Fabric, 15 Jul 2024). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
4 files not listed: no matching project found.
Compared with the release of 8 Apr 2024 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in its mods
We checked all 114 mods and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
8 mods send something about you
We read the code of 113 of its 114 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 5 of the 102 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
12 mods are not checked yet.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its description and found none.
We have not read its changelogs, files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
