A modpack for smoother gameplay with improved textures and lighting.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 39 graded mods, 37 are graded A or B, 1 C and 1 D to F. Its last update came out 18 months ago, for Minecraft 1.21.5. See the mods
Star Optimized is a performance-focused modpack that aims to make Minecraft run smoothly while adding visual and quality-of-life enhancements. Its performance tools include Sodium, Lithium, Starlight, FerriteCore, ImmediatelyFast, and Concurrent Chunk Management Engine, alongside Entity Culling and Dynamic FPS. For visual customization, it supports Iris shaders, including BSL, Complementary, and Complementary Reimagined, plus resource packs for bushy leaves and enchanted books. Other touches include falling-leaf effects, dynamic lighting, custom entity textures and models, more character animations, and Zoomify for closer viewing. Players can adjust gameplay settings, difficulty, and mod options, and use the pack in multiplayer for shared adventures and trading.
Written from Modrinth . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.20.1, 10 Feb 2024). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
1 file not listed: no matching project found.
Compared with the release of 9 Oct 2023 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. Same mods in both. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in its projects
We checked all 41 projects and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
4 mods send something about you
We read the code of all 37 of its mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 2 of the 37 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files, images and code history yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
