Explore strange dimensions, uncover secrets, and build a home on wheels.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 223 graded mods, 61 are graded A or B, 41 C and 121 D to F. Its newest release is for Minecraft 1.12.2. See the mods
Uncle Genny’s is a sprawling, exploration-focused modpack built as a spiritual successor to Attack of the B-Team, combining adventure, unusual creatures, building, and playful surprises. A new world starts you in one of five portable RV homes, equipped with essentials such as a bed, storage, a kitchen, and a furnace; a guidebook on the RV’s bookshelf helps newcomers with common modded-Minecraft questions. Exploration leads through heavily customized dimensions, including Tropicraft and the overhauled Nether, with dimension-specific monsters, custom structures, secret loot, and Easter eggs; temples and ruins also offer lost artifacts and dinosaur bones to uncover. In Tropicraft’s prehistoric jungles, you can capture live dinosaurs or raise them from fossilized DNA, while Soviet-era underground laboratories pit you against cyborg zombies, robotic dinosaurs, and other mechanical threats, and offer technology for becoming a cyborg. Progression is guided by discovery rather than quests: some crafted items require materials from other dimensions, and discoveries can reveal items or entire mods in JEI. Instead of conventional machines for every farm or processing task, tameable rats can harvest crops, double ores, and fight powerful enemies. The pack also supports imaginative construction and travel, including flying ships and buildable, flyable creations, with options such as Chisel-based themed blocks, hidden rooms and doors, and MrCrayfish furniture. Its lighter diversions range from guns, go-karts, and swan boats to ghost pirates, rideable fire-breathing dragons, tiny mob farms, and unusual foods such as bugs and tacos.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.12.2 · Forge, 13 Sep 2020). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
3 files not listed: no matching project found.
Compared with the release of 4 Aug 2020 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in the mods we checked
We checked 222 of its 230 mods and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
5 mods send something about you
We read the code of 221 of its 230 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign that AI was used to make its mods
We found no AI use from before this release (13 Sep 2020) in the 103 mods we checked.
11 mods show AI use only from after it, so it does not apply to the versions in this pack.
127 mods are not checked yet.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
