The Rename Compat Project is a resource pack that renames overlapping content in modded Minecraft so items and other additions with identical names become more distinct, helping reduce inventory confusion while preserving each mod’s assets and differing uses. It also standardizes spelling, capitalization, and naming conventions across supported mods, making registries more consistent and easier to search. For example, Alex’s Caves limestone is renamed “Primordial Limestone” to distinguish it from Quark’s limestone, and Terralith biome names appear as readable names such as “Gravel Beach” in Nature’s Compass and Xaero’s Minimap. The revised names are used throughout the game, including advancements and subtitles, rather than only in item or block displays. Its support spans a broad range of mod content, including biomes and world-generation mods such as Biomes O’ Plenty, Terralith, and Regions Unexplored; farming and food mods such as Farmer’s Delight, Croptopia, and Pam’s Harvestcraft 2; and animal and monster mods such as Alex’s Mobs, Naturalist, Ice and Fire, and Born in Chaos. The supported content also includes tech and ore mods such as Mekanism, Applied Energistics 2, and Create; dimensions such as The Aether, Twilight Forest, and BetterNether; and decoration mods such as Stoneworks, Adorn, and Macaw’s series compatibility mods. The pack also covers magic mods including Hexerei and Occultism, alongside a range of other additions such as Quark, Minecolonies, and Dynamic Trees with its addons. It is designed for use across mod loaders and can be included in modpacks, making it useful for players and pack creators who want clearer, more coherent names across a mixed mod collection.
Written from Modrinth and CurseForge . How we write it
Keeps all of vanilla Minecraft's textures, models and sounds.
Has files for 367 other mods: Livingthings, Forestcraft, Quark and 364 more.
No harmful code found
We checked what is inside its files, without opening them in the game.
Why we show this: a resource pack cannot run programs, but its file can hide one. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade.
Sends nothing
A resource pack has no code that can connect to the internet, so it cannot send anything about you.
No sign so far that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files and images and found none.
We have not read its code history yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
