About
Otherworld is a fantasy RPG modpack that turns Minecraft into a story-driven adventure inspired by Dungeons & Dragons, with lore about a magical realm scarred by a great calamity. Players create a hero by choosing a race, subrace, class and subclass, then develop abilities and stats through leveling, feats and cantrips; options range from elves, dwarves and dragonborn to artificers, clerics, rogues and spellcasters. Character choices affect gameplay: dragonborn gain ancestry-based breath attacks, while class paths can grant abilities such as summoning beasts or undead, and feats can improve melee damage, add spell power or reduce hunger and thirst. The campaign sends players to uncover secrets and fight powerful familiar and new enemies, with custom story content, rituals, a new dimension and campaign structures such as the Mineshaft Dungeon, Burning Arena and Olympic Citadel. Exploration takes place across expansive fantasy world generation, fantasy biomes, capital cities and enhanced villages, alongside inhabitants such as orcs, goblins and dragons. Progression also includes leveled enemies with legendary gear, reforging for certain Underdark subraces, and a gold-and-silver currency system with village bounties. Custom patches integrate the pack's many mods into a cohesive RPG system, including character creation, leveling and spellcasting systems.
