Better Archeology expands Minecraft’s archaeology gameplay with structures to explore, artifacts and fossils to uncover, and new ways to use the finds. Its structures include Mesa Ruins, a lookout called the Mott Structure, tumuli, Stonehenge, catacombs, temples of light, and enhanced jungle temples, alongside fossil sites such as a sheep site. Brush Fossiliferous Dirt at fossil sites to collect parts and gradually complete fossil displays, including sheep, ocelot, creeper, villager, and chicken fossils; their effects include playing goat-horn sounds, deterring creepers, displaying held items with their light, or granting nearby players slow falling. Artifact Shards can come from pots or suspicious sand, and an Archeology Table lets players analyze Unidentified Artifacts with a brush to obtain one of three artifacts, which can be applied to equipment at an anvil as special enchantments. Those enchantments offer distinct utility: Tunneling can break a suitable block beneath the one mined, Soaring Winds boosts Elytra takeoff without rockets, and Penetrating Strike lets swords and axes partly bypass Protection. The mod also adds items such as Totems of Souls and Torrents for combat and mobility, throwable TNT-strength Rusty Bombs, and two more durable brush types. An Archeologist villager trades relics and other goods, and can be found at an Archeology Table or travelling in tents near ruins. New environmental details include Rotten Wood and expanded mud-brick variants, while loot vases and suspicious red sand and dirt add to the exploration and archaeology theme.

No harmful code found
We checked its files and read their code, without running it.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
We found nothing it sends
We read its code without running it: it contacts no web address while you play.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
An AI tool may have been used
Claude Code and AI instructions file (AGENTS.md) are named in the ignore list of its repository.
This does not show that it was used to make the files you download.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
CLAUDE.mdPossible signThe tool was seen around the project. This does not show that it was used to make the files you download.: A AI instructions file (AGENTS.md) file AGENTS.mdPoint at or tap a version to see its loaders.
These projects do not work together with Better Archeology: their authors or Better Archeology's author say so. If you install both, the game can crash or some features can stop working. Some of them do the same job as Better Archeology, so you only need one.
