About
Celestial is a mod for creating customized skies in Minecraft, with resource packs controlling the changes rather than configuration files. Resource packs can add celestial objects such as planets and stars, use custom textures or solid colors, and build animated skies or skyboxes, including simple skyboxes with one texture and complex ones with different textures or UV mappings on each side. They can also change sky and fog colors, fog distance, cloud color and height, and other environmental details for vanilla or modded dimensions. Object appearance and behavior can be shaped with custom geometry, rotation, and equations, allowing elements to respond to conditions such as the time of day or what the player is holding. Example uses range from an alien-world sky and a high-altitude view of the Overworld to hurricane scenes and night skies featuring Solar System planets.
