    About

    Crossroads is a steampunk technology mod focused on making automation a matter of designing interconnected systems rather than relying on single-block solutions or waiting on rare resources. Its early machinery centers on separate heat, rotary, and steam power systems, with challenges such as distributing heat without melting components and arranging gears for specific speed-to-energy ratios. As players progress, the mod expands into alchemy and resource production, bioengineering that experiments with genetics, and technomancy that manipulates time. Examples of the contraptions players can build include tree farms, gateways that can be dialed to connect to other gateways, genetically modified chicken farms, and ice makers powered by the Nether's ambient heat. Late-game systems can turn industrial waste into diamonds, multiply ores while producing byproducts, and cheaply generate raw materials such as iron and redstone. The technology also reaches beyond factories, with powerful lightning-shooting staffs and flying vehicles or mounts among its advanced capabilities.
