Grounded Origins is an add-on for Origins that introduces four playable origins: Beach Crab, Deer, Moth, and Penguin. Each origin reshapes survival around its creature’s traits and habitat, with distinctive size, diet, movement, and environmental strengths or vulnerabilities. Beach Crabs are armored, broad, and strongest on beaches, where they can summon a lingering resistance effect alongside a Crab Rave noteblock cover; in water they move and fight more effectively, walk along the bottom, and break blocks at normal speed, but cannot use shields and struggle in hot, dry conditions. Deer cannot eat meat, gain speed and regeneration in forest-like biomes, and get extra nourishment from berries while ignoring berry-bush thorns; they have fewer hearts than humans but can leap higher while sprinting, reduce fall damage, and gain a burst of speed when badly hurt. Moths are tiny, have only four hearts, and can fly with Elytra-like wings when not wearing chest armor; they can launch upward, climb walls, and gain resilience and a block-bonemealing ability near many flowers, especially with additional strength in flower forests. Moths also have a specialized fibrous diet that includes items such as string, leather, paper, and books, while Flower Stamens provide nourishment and a temporary health boost; water slows and harms them, and heat makes them more vulnerable to damage. Penguins are smaller, flightless birds that eat seafood, lunge underwater, and slide across land in cold biomes; they swim faster, breathe longer, and deal extra damage underwater, while gaining benefits in snowy climates and becoming weaker or slower in warmer ones. The origins use configurable item and block tags for foods, tools, and lighting, allowing modpack authors to extend supported diets and Moth light responses with datapacks or KubeJS.
Written from Modrinth and the GitHub README . How we write it
It has no file for a recent Minecraft version. This is about its files for Minecraft 1.18.1 to 1.19.2.
Does not change the game's code directly.
Adds 5 items: Book-Bite, Fibrous String, Flower Stamens, Kelp Mush and Paper Shreds; 1 sound: Rave; 2 key bindings: Active Power (Quaternary) and Active Power (Ternary); 2 recipes.
Counted from the names and data files in the mod, so the list may not be complete.
Keeps all of vanilla Minecraft's textures, models and sounds.
No harmful code found
It has no file for a recent Minecraft version. This is about its files for Minecraft 1.18.1 to 1.19.2.
We checked its files and read their code, without running it.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
We found nothing it sends about you
It has no file for a recent Minecraft version. This is about its files for Minecraft 1.18.1 to 1.19.2.
We read its code without running it: it contacts 1 web address while you play.
Like any connection, each address it contacts sees your IP address.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign so far that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its description, files, images, sounds and code history and found none.
We have not read its changelogs yet.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
