Adds controller support and enhanced controls overall.

MidnightControls adds controller and touchscreen support to Minecraft, making it possible to play and interact using gamepads or touch input as well as keyboard controls. It supports common controllers including DualShock and DualSense, Xbox and Switch Pro controllers, Joy-Cons, and Steam controllers, and lets players create custom mappings for devices that lack one. Controller options include configurable controls, an on-screen button indicator, keyboard controls for looking around, and automatic handling of modded keybinds. Touch features include buttons for interacting with blocks, entities, and items, plus a mode that targets the position touched rather than the crosshair. The mod also adds Bedrock-inspired and reach-around features, including vertical reach-around, optional drifting while flying, and placing blocks in front of the player. Developers can use its API to add their own button bindings, which can also be used to create custom touch buttons.
Written from Modrinth , CurseForge and the GitHub README . How we write it
Changes the game's code in 6 areas, as a library other mods build on: User interfaceChanges 6 game code files in this area: menus, screens, tooltips, the chat window and the in-game overlay., Game optionsChanges 4 game code files in this area: settings, key bindings and the option screens., Rendering and graphicsChanges 2 game code files in this area: drawing mobs, items, particles and textures on screen., World renderingChanges 1 game code file in this area: drawing the terrain, sky, clouds and weather., PlayerChanges 1 game code file in this area: your character: movement, abilities, hunger and controls. and Game coreChanges 1 game code file in this area: the main loop, lighting and other code the whole game uses..
Libraries packed inside it change 14 more game code files: Yumi Minecraft Libraries: Foundation, SpruceUI,
MidnightLib and 1 more.
Adds 5 key bindings: Look Down, Look Left, Look Right, Look Up and Open Unbound Keybind Ring.
Counted from the names and data files in the mod, so the list may not be complete.
Keeps all of vanilla Minecraft's textures, models and sounds.
No harmful code found
We checked its files and read their code, without running it.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
We found nothing it sends about you
We read its code without running it: it contacts 1 web address while you play.
Like any connection, each address it contacts sees your IP address.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files, images and code history and found none.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
Point at or tap a version to see its loaders.
These projects do not work together with MidnightControls: their authors or MidnightControls' author say so. If you install both, the game can crash or some features can stop working. Some of them do the same job as MidnightControls, so you only need one.

Fewer modpacks put it in their new versions than a year ago: 22 a month now, 39 a year agoThe average of the last 6 months, compared with the same 6 months a year before. We say it only when the change is large..
1,032 modpacks include MidnightControls in at least one of their versions. Here are the 30 most downloaded.
Mods that modpacks often add together with MidnightControls. Share: how many of the modpacks with MidnightControls also have that mod.
The newest file for each Minecraft version and loader. The files for recent versions come first. Recent versions: those released in the last 2 years, plus 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, among the most played in modpacks.
In the last 2 years, 1 release needed a quick fix: a new release within 3 days to fix a problem. This counts in the grade, but it is too few to lose points.
